Browning Designs

John M. Browning (1855–1926) is considered by many to be the greatest gun designer in history. Not only did he develop of range of firearms and cartridges alongside his business partner and brother, Matthew S. Browning (1859–1923), John Browning invented entire firearms categories, filing 128 patents over 47 years. His designs reimagined some of the most sophisticated actions of the era, from the traditional lever action to the automatic machine gun.

Manufactured by noted names like Winchester, Colt, and Remington, Browning firearms became some of the most well-known guns of their time. And through these companies, John M. Browning was able to make a sizeable impact on warfare and the settlement of the American West.
