In 1879, L.H and L.C. Smith produced firearms for the W.H. Baker Company. In 1884, L.C. Smith began making double barrel shotguns and by 1889, Hunter Arms Company was built to produce the firearms. L.C. Smith firearms remained popular and strong until 1950.
