The Remington Rolling Block is a single shot rifle that combined a center-hung hammer with a semi-circular, rotating breechblock. It was patented in 1863 by Leonard Geiger and improved upon by Remington Superintendent Joseph Rider. This type of rifle was heavily used in the west as a buffalo gun.
